Daniel Peterson is a PhD Candidate at the Australian Catholic University’s Institute for Religion, Politics and Society, and an associate at the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Indonesian Islam, Law and Society (CILIS). He is also principal contributor to SHARIAsource, an Islamic legal database initiative of Harvard Law School’s Islamic Legal Studies Program, and Euro-Islam. His research focuses on the intersection between Indonesia’s human rights law regime and the rise of political Islam in contemporary Indonesia. He holds a BA(Hons)/LLB from Monash University and an LLM from the University of Melbourne.
