The following notice may be of interest to New Mandala readers who are students at the ANU:

New Mandala is the world’s leading website for academic discussions of mainland Southeast Asia. In 2009 we hope to collaborate with an ANU student (or students) who have a demonstrated commitment to understanding this region.

Interested students should submit the following documentation:

  • Curriculum vitae (maximum 1 page);
  • Outline of interests in Southeast Asian affairs (maximum 1 page).

All expressions of interest should be sent to [email protected] by noon on 1 May 2008.

New Mandala is very keen to open up opportunities for students to become involved in its research, writing and editing activities. Any ANU student who joins the team will be encouraged to participate in the expanding activities of the website. During their time with New Mandala they may also be supported in capitalising on more traditional publication opportunities for their Southeast Asia-related interests.

Students keen to write on the politics, environments, cultures and histories of mainland Southeast Asia are particularly welcome to express their interest.

E-mail enquiries about this opportunity can be directed to Nicholas Farrelly.
