Today Prachatai‘s relatively new English language site has a short illustrated article on recent protests against the Pak Mun dam. It includes some very good images.

New Mandala readers who are unfamiliar with Prachatai’s innovative web publishing initiatives will find that the English language site carries a great deal of other useful and informative material.

According to its statement of principles the Prachatai English website is designed:

…to build up a deliberative community operated in a volunteer principle. We will compile and translate various information related to political transition in Thailand produced by local media into English. The main source will be from Prachatai.com and our alliance websites.

Prachatai also offers what they call р╕Ыр╕гр╕░р╕Кр╕▓р╣Др╕Чр╕кр╕ер╕┤р╕б (Prachatai Slim) which consolidates current headlines in one easy-to-read and quick-to-load page. If you want to find out more about the general Prachatai effort to create an independent source of Thai news then this introduction is a good place to start.

Thanks to Vanessa for passing on the link to the Pak Mun coverage.
