A new Borneo agenda

New Mandala readers who observe Sabah, Sarawak, and Malaysia closely maybe interested in this event – the ‘International Conference on the Malaysia Agreement‘. It will be held in Kota Kinabalu on September 13, 2013.

The Conference, sponsored by the Borneo Heritage Foundation (a non-governmental organisation set-up by Jeffrey Kitingan), will be moderated by Tan Sri Simon Sipaun (a former Sabah state government secretary) who has been preaching all his adult life that “life was better in Sabah before Malaysia“.

With the increased importance of Sabah and Sarawak to national politics and the continued problems at the local level in these two states appearing to go unabated, paying close attention to developments in Sabah and Sarawak will be extremely important to both the coalitions, as well as observers of Malaysia.
