Aries A Arugay is an associate professor at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines-Diliman. He is also the Executive Director of the Institute for Strategic and Development Studies, Inc.

He obtained his PhD (Political Science) from the Department of Political Science, Georgia State University, USA.
