Remember only reliable soldiers: Queen’s Guards.

Have you seen a kettle or pressure cooker boiling? The steam builds up. If you do not do anything the whole thing explodes. This is what is happening. If you have to stoke the fire, you must also let some steam out so the whole thing don’t explode. Nothing more than this.

Rumours about the CP and his “visits” to Rajprasong, support for the Reds etc… are rife among the rank and file inside the barricades… As are rumours that Mom is not happy with this and works overtime to cut the connections… which leads one to wonder which regiment the assassin is attached to… given such rumours.

Then again, rumours that a foreign force was preparing to intervene on the Reds’ behalf were equally rife a few days ago…

nok and angusk: people are thumbing down your comments, as they are recycled propaganda straight from the Thai government. I find it hilarious that you complain about censorship on this forum, yet presumably are happy to consume the vicious and one-sided garbage that comprises the entirety of Thai media. Do you really believe in the importance of free media? What do you think of Thai media, in that case?

  6. Suzie Wong says:

The Thai monarchy is part of the problem because the Queen has all the main power in her hands. There is no check and balance against the Queen power. Her husband’s preference is to stay in the hospital.

  7. JohnH says:

Yes, and once the intervention comes, what after?

Another sponsored/ installed and pathetically inept and corrupt government? (With the ‘losers’ having done their part, smartly exonerrated and handsomely rewarded, of course.)

Or shall we have elections again, just to validate yet another pathetically inept and corrupt government, while keeping the world and the people of Thailand happy in the delusional belief that feudalism doesn’t really exist in this country.

    And so it goes on.

Can anyone provide some background for the ubiquitous rumor that the Crown Prince was a fan of Seh Daeng?

I’ve heard this for years, and the talk gotten a lot louder with Seh Daeng’s more outrageous and insubordinate comments during the past years.

Was his assassination a sign that the CP stopped being a fan? Or did a greater power not like the situation? Or did a military clique just decide to go rogue and take out the CP’s favorite warrior? Or did the military clique have support from some other power? Surely Seh Daeng couldn’t have been bluffing it all these years without being told to stop misrepresenting things, could he?

    @Ken #36

I have seen no reason why the hospital must done its over-react by moving patients, which results of 2 deaths.

Later found out that the hosiptal are full of PAD doctors.

The only reason I saw was to take advantage of the incident by making the UDD looks like violence group.

Sae-dang was shot on the head which is very really close to the hospital, no one say anything about moving patients out.

We have UDD’s eyewitnesses of “armforce shooting out from the hospital building”.

Evidences investigated by “Dr. Pornthip R.” show that M79 shot from the hospital building scratch the tree on Silom road, killed one and wounded some on the street.

There were people with war weapons in the hospital from time to time.

    My Roadmap:
    1) Respect human life – stop killing people.
    2) Do not make accusations without genuine evidence.
    3) Stop demonising your opponents and leaving no way out.
    4) Take the fight off the streets and back to the parliament – polititicans do your work.
    5) Stop ranking loyalty higher than honesty and integrity.

Should not much, of course, but when it comes to the public activities of Thai royal family, *nothing is accidental*.

This is a good sign indeed. One rare hope for Thailand is the intervention by one and only authority respected by both sides. The decision to intervene is never made in haste, many factors are always considered, but once it is made, it is guaranteed to work.

It’s unfortunate and frightening that no other institution in Thai society is capable of keeping the peace.

Bangkok Department stores are closed, so wonder what they plan to do with the money

Authorities will shortly ask two close aides of Pojaman na Pombejra, ex-wife of Thaksin Shinawatra, to substantiate their recent cash withdrawals of Bt600 million and Bt800 million.

The Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES) said yesterday that massive amounts of money had been withdrawn by Akarat Changlao and Kanchanapa Honghern, respectively, on behalf of Pojaman.

The money was taken out of bank accounts in cash and left the banks in several vehicles.

    Another suggestion for rating system.
How about divide into “Quality comment” and “Agreement”?
But use only the positive score, no negative.

So there would be no hidden comment nor low rating.
Just highlight those that deem positive.

Also, to prevent a long comment from taking space, put a standard limiter on comment like on the article (with Read More button).

  17. Rebecca says:

A government that can only resolve a situation by committing murder state their own incompetence and poor constructed vision of how to unite people in one country and take care of them in a proper and responsible way.
..And as an answer to the burning question “how the West” resolves situations that take on these proportions, I have a clear answer, not like this!
First of all its prevented that a situation ever escalates to this degree. Bad strategic moves like censorship and closing down any TV stations or radio stations of a group of people that might have other ideas about ethical or moral principles, or political expectations then the ruling party is not practiced. This is oppression of the right of free speech and fuels the already desperate feeling of the opposition and in fact an insulting provocation.
Ministers or Premiers resign, or are voted out of office, if they are incapable or prove that they are corrupt.

I read also a lot about being Thai and that the farangs have no clue.
Living in this country coming from abroad or many that were staying in other countries and return, do not agree with this because its a primitive defense mechanism used to create separation and to exclude but is not an argument. You are just a human being as we all are and there is nothing special in the end about being Thai or French, you will just as well bleed when shot, as the Red shirts do.

Having different opinions is not about Thaksin anymore, but about the right of equal treatment. Everybody defending the unlawful action of the kills is using him to defend the own wrong doing. Really pitiful to see. It is a fact that Red Shirts go at least two years to prison, if not killed and the yellow shirts all walk free. This is creating a split society, divided into classes where the law fails pitifully. You cannot introduce double standards and then expect a positive outcome.

Snipers that kill people on purpose shooting them through the head or stomach (and I confirm, I could not see any weapons lying next to the dead bodies either) should be brought to court, starting with their superiors up to the highest ranks. There are hundreds of videos on youTube, Facebook and Twitter witnessing all what the government tries so hard to deny, which is that they have a killing squad that executes people for claiming their rights.

Not much difference anymore to Burma, or all other countries in Asia that do not comprehend that brutal force brings a country down. Northern Korea, Laos, just to mention two! Welcome Thailand to the club!

So the royal house is “terrorist” sympathizer?
What Aphisit will do about that?

  19. Peter says:

If the tweets i read from many people now then this is victory 2:0 for the protesters.

Seems that the government allows the Ratjaprasong Demonstration go on if the red are closing all the other stages and riot places. Great news, if it is true. They had no idea how idea how strong the red tiger is and how pissed off the people are from the current government and Prem
‘s shadow government (aka privy counsil).

This one day after the ultimatum would be the total face collapse of the government. And maybe after this we hear something that Aphisit shot himself 20 times in the head in a suicide 🙂

  20. Jim Taylor says:

seemingly ironic but in fact not: the monarchy, as I have always argued, have been used all along as part of a bigger picture centred around Puppet Master Prem, amaat and Democrat Party alliance…The king apparantly sponsored the medical treatment for the Red Shirts in hospital. No, the monarchy have been used. BTW/re- Saedaeng; evidence is mounting that Abhisit directly ordered the killing.
Also, CNN are just plain pathetic: they were threatened (Dan Rivers) some years back by the post-2006 fascist govt. and are worried about displeasing this regime. So I say, shame on them.
