Asia, Thailand, Bangkok, Protests, About 13000 Anti Government Red Shirt protesters marched to Government House and surrounded the compound, yet stated that they will not attempt to enter Government House as their nemesis PAD (People┬Тs Alliance for Democracy) did half a year previously. Even though the Government planned not to let the protesters surround the compound, the Red Shirts managed to take away the barricades and push police away. There were no incidents of violence. The Red Shirts plan to stay at Government House for a few days more. At night the number of protesters swelled to maybe 20 000 to 30 000. Police and protesters co-existed peacefully. many police officers have strong sympathies for the protesters. 24/2/2009, ┬й 2009, Nick Nostitz/Agentur Focus
