Andrew Marshall (the veteran Reuters correspondent) has written a thorough summary of what is known about Thailand’s violence, bloodshed and arson of April-May 2010. Anybody who takes seriously the need to understand those events will want to read his account. It is available here. Marshall asks five important questions — all are questions that certain Thai authorities are probably in a position to answer.
Marshall ends with something of a clarion call for greater effort to piece together exactly what happened on the streets of Bangkok in April-May 2010. He doesn’t expect that the current Thai government will offer much assistance in this regard and so looks to others to help with the puzzles he identifies.
