John Lee Candelaria is an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Hiroshima University, Japan. He studies war heritage and memory in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. His book "War Memorialization and Nation-Building in Twentieth-Century Southeast Asia" was published by Routledge in 2025. He co-hosts "Podkas", a podcast of conversations on Philippine history, politics, and society.
