Dr Justine Chambers is a visiting fellow in the Department of Anthropology, School of Culture, History and Languages, College of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University. She is also co-convenor of the 2021 Myanmar Update and co-edited the recent MU volume, Living with Myanmar (Singapore: Iseas-Yusof Ishak Institute). Dr Chambers is a social-cultural anthropologist whose ethnographic research primarily focuses on Myanmar’s Karen people. Her research interests include understandings of morality and ethics, ethnic conflict, communal violence, land tenure, youth, migration and debt. Justine also holds an MA in Development Studies and spent some years before her PhD working with refugee populations from Myanmar in Thailand and Australia.
