Lukas Fort is a PhD graduate from the School of Social Sciences at the University of Western Australia. As a social and cultural anthropologist with a regional focus on Indonesia, he is interested in bringing cultural perspectives on environment into conversation with questions of power, class, gender, ethnicity, economics and materiality. His doctoral thesis looks at the role of culture and social and environmental justice in the development of new waste management services in Sumbawa, Indonesia. He is the winner of the 2022 John Legge Prize for best thesis in Asian Studies across Australia.
