Teuku Reza Fadeli is a historian and senior lecturer in the Department of History, Universitas Indonesia, where he currently serves as Head of the History Laboratory (Lab Sejarah). He received his PhD in History from the University of York and was a Visiting Fellow at KITLV in 2025. His doctoral research examined shopping, advertising, and the emergence of consumer culture in colonial Southeast Asia, with a focus on Surabaya, Penang, and Singapore in the 1920s and 1930s. His writings have appeared in Indonesia and the Malay World, Asia Maior, Asian Studies Review, and other publications. His broader research interests include consumer culture, mobility, the history of science and technology, urban modernity, and intercultural exchange in Southeast Asia and beyond.
