Bangkok Post 4:34PM report that red demonstrators in Khon Kaen
Red are threatening to seize Khon Kaen city hall

Published: 10/04/2010 at 04:34 PM
More than 800 red-shirts in Khon Kaen were gathering at Ratchadanusorn public park in front of the provincial hall, reports said.
The red-shirts said they were ready to storm the city hall once they receive an order from core leaders of the United front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) in Bangkok.
Pol Col Chalong Phakpinyo, Khon Kaen deputy police chief, said anti-riot police were stationed inside and around the provincial hall compound and at other important state offices.
He was confident that police are capable of keeping the situation under control.

The ultimate result of Thaksin-style and Thaksinomics is inevitably just more bloodshed. The man has no flexibility, compromise, humanity or commonsense. Just a boneheaded obsession with himself, his people (slaves) and his horrible family. If any of you had really been observing his total FU on the South you would have realised that this is how it would inevitably end. What could you seriously expect from a bent cop who loves that butcher General Phao – the man who murdered most of Thailand’s moderates on his personal power and wealth drive. D0 you still want to go down yet another bloody deadend supporting yet another mafia PM with a likeing for goon squads?
Pro-government newspaper The Nation reports at 4:30PM Saturday afternoon in Bangkok April 10th that Thai PBS has now confirmed that government troops were retreating from the Makkhawan Rangsan Bridge to the area in front of the Kurusapa Hall of the Education Ministry.
The government sanctioned and supervised tv station explained that the wind blew the tear gas back to troops, causing them to be unable to maintain position at the Makkhawan Bridge.
Report that Prime Minister Abhisit has postponed tv appearance.
All of the government controlled TV stations have switched away from their live news coverage of the crackdown. NBT is doing sports, TNN & Thai PBS are showing documentaries. Same with all stations on air!
Combined with the reports of the troops retreating at Makkawan Bridge, this would appear to be an attempt to block all negative information flow and news in regard to any troops/police retreating.
But with so many distribution channels and so many witnesses and so many mobile phones, digital cameras and video cameras, it is not possible to totally block the information flow in such a gigantic city as Bangkok with so many elements of modern technology present.
shows Nathawut and Arisman announcing the arrest of a man (shown without shirt) who is suspected of being an infiltrator/intruder trying to create havoc among the red shirts.
Why is that competing elements of the Thai Elite have to continually go down this route? They always have to suck people in to be their bloody cannon fodder? Why is it that we have to continually watch all this pointless macho posturing and stupid party-party antics when a gradualist approach would probably have acheived far more and quicker? Why do people continually listen to the simplistic nonsense that has been trotted out by ALL factions for decades? This ain’t going to work for anyone. There is NO democracy at the end of this monotone yellow/red rainbow! But there is undoubtedly a land fit for bigots, parasites and corrupt buffoons. I would settle for a great deal less if there were a few politicians out there who showed some ounce of commonsense. But alas, they don’t exist! All we ever get is complete knobheads in Thai politics and its elite!
Report that so many red reinforcements are on the way to Central Bangkok from Samut Prakan that it is causing a traffic jam on inbound Sukhumwit.
It has been apparent for several weeks now that many of the red shirt demonstrators live and work in Bangkok and do not have to travel 8 hours on a bus to get to the demonstration sites.
They are connected together and coordinate their actions by multiple levels of text messaging, mobile phone networks and wifi/internet. It seems that every single demonstrator and red supporter in Bangkok has a mobile phone which is in almost constant use.
This website http://www.thaienews.blogspot.com/ is still working and gives you live reports from Phanfa/Rajdamnern by clicking a small box on the upper right-hand side. You can still hear Chatuporn and Arisman addressing the red shirts crowd. Get your speakers ready.
