It is now very symptomatic of “Money by any means”degenerated world where people grew up from kindergarten singing praise for fame and cash always seeking attention and recognition to worship a country like Singapore or Switzerland and Lichtenstein for that matter.
When the teacher tells the class that the Nazi’s took the Jews’ gold from the teeth to the Swiss Banks, all the students can think of was how much.
Still in this current world of zero morality and money is everything, it is no wonder that Lee Kuan Yew’s Singapore prospers (collects more and more money). And will do more so. The youth. Glorious youths of Asia. (Sorry, Deng Xiaopeng did say “To be rich is glorious”)
When the Americans were busy giving money and guns to Dear Old Saloth Sar based in Thai soil to kill off all those “2 million Cambodians”, one wonders who were the pimps for the Americans?
When Burma was in turmoil busy killing off her own youths in several convulsions since mid-70’s, who supported with guns and advice? During 2007 Monks’ “revolution” instigated by Gene Sharp via NED and Soro’s Open Society and monks were killed on the streets right outside Shwedagon Pagoda, the story came out that Singapore advised the military thugs not to use guns like the way they killed the Japanese reporter Kenji Nagai, so that poor Burmese military then had to use iron sticks to hit the heads in the streets. Fine advice.
Anyhow ask Goh Chauk Tong, how many of his childhood friends are now living in Singapore, the enviable state cashing in on the neighbours’ misfortune. Well someone has to do it. suppose.
Sour grapes syndrome? (LOL) I may be naive but I am not stupid. I know how to use my discretion when I read. I know there is money laundering everywhere, including the high and mighty United States. The US refused to cooperate with the Chinese in their Operation Fox Hunt. Most of the currupt officials from any country laundered their money to and hid in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and New Zealand. Every one in the world knows about that. I want to find out is Singapore as bad and hypocritical as any of the above English speaking countries.

You are quite wrong, Satish. Character assassination – libel and slander – is not a crime in most countries. It is a civil matter and civil remedies are the answer in most countries. If someone says something that besmirches your character, you can sue them through the civil courts but very rarely through the criminal courts.
In common law countries the archaic and obsolete criminal libel laws have been abolished. It would be good if Thailand were to get rid of laws such as 112 and Criminal Defamation that criminalize opinion and thought and instead allow people to pursue cases of slander and libel through the civil courts.
“The common law offences of seditious libel, defamatory libel, and obscene libel were abolished in the England and Wales and Northern Ireland on 12 January 2010 when section 73 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 came into force,[6] blasphemous libel having already been abolished in England and Wales on 8 July 2008 by the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008, having been replaced with the Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006.
Samoa announced in late 2011 that it would soon abolish the offence of criminal libel, which remains on the statute books as part of the Crimes Act 1961.”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminal_libel
We all know how rotten Singapore is. The very fact that people would mark it as a Paradise on Earth signifies their moral and analytical status as well.
For the today’s youth, especially youths of Burma it is no wonder. No one nowadays seem to be able to see beyond Money and gleaming places not just this headless generation the Prime Minister is busy thanking .
I can’t say names coz these are bank secrets but I believe there are lots of opium war-lords, relatives and proxies of top CPC functionaries, tycoons and tyrants from neighbouring countries, etc. who have/had dealings with Singaporians over the last 50 years.
Even those wretched migrant slave workers and servant maids from poor neighbouring countries love Singapore (they don’t launder money, but just wash clothes and do other menial labour). I heard that the Rohingyas would love to live there as well but there is no room for “stupid Bengalis” in Singapore, no? The Lion City is a great place if you have money or like money (but not chewing gum though)
