As mentioned by Ralph; LSI, SMRC, Indikator, CSIS, Kompas (also CSIS)and CYRUS are all affiliated to JKW since last year. If you are following the news, you can find the link between them and JKW.

The other 4 mentioned by PS side als affiliated to PS.

So I trust no one. At this point I’d rather wait for the manual count by KPU.

Can either side cheat on the manual count by KPU? The chances is very small since there are only 2 contenders and each side has their own witness on each TPS and has the copy of C1 form on their phone camera.

On academics site like New Mandala, I really hope the writers are being fair on both side to enlighten us. Not taking side bluntly like this.

I think, maybe that’s his point, to distract more people’s attention, from the article. LoL.

AngryMaggie. It is true statistics do not mean a thing in Indonesia. Having lived here for so long, anything can be bought with money.

  6. Sapi Lanang says:

Budianto Kuncoro, even without seeing this article, it is obvious to me Prabowo is playing this dirty tricks. This article is written to open up ignorant people’s eyes like you. But I don’t think it did the job because you are so foolish. Indonesia depends on foreign investment and technologies to even make it’s own resources useful. Why do you think the forein countries is going to be so scared of losing Indonesia as their resources?

Provokator…tulisan itu yang menyejukkan atuh kang! QC itu pake asumsi2 yg memungkinkan terjadinya kesalahan krn 2000 tps sebagai sampel dibanding 270000 tps yg ada… Incomparable!!!

  10. JY says:

I think you’ve drank too much of that Prabowo’s Kool Aid because Indonesians have been “determinin his own future.” since the first direct presidential election. Arguably since the first general election post orde baru in 1999.

Just because Prabowo is now one of the main contenders doesn’t mean Indonesia was not “determining his own future.” in the past elections.

  11. David Brown says:

    Stuart,

The leadership of Thai unions seems to have been subverted by the elites (become minor elites) and seem very fragmented in their focus and organisation.

The attention of many redshirts on Thaksin and his political organisation has probably stunted the efforts of their real leaders in building their own organisation.

Instead the redshirt leaders have done a good job of educating their members in democratic principles and, within the limitations of lese majeste constraints n explaining to ordinary people the facts of McCargo’s network monarchy.

Seems to me the Thai people are now individually aware and motivated but as you say, the coherent strategy and organising force is absent.

As a by the way I would contrast this with the elites/yellows/military who are a hierarchic organisation that manages mobs that dont want to know or wholly ignorant of the underlying issues and objectives.

I dont believe the redshirts and now politically educated majority of Thai people will wither and die without Thaksin and the Shinawatras. Rather they will fester and try through leaders of more or less ability to restructure the country.

Thaksin’s slogan for Yingluck was “Thaksin thinks, PT acts”.

It now seems that Thaksin thought and the Junta acts to implement his thoughts.

Does Thailand have another leader that can think and lead the country or is the Thaksin capability a one-off?

  12. JY says:

Did you even read the article because your remark totally missed the point.

  13. Jim #2 says:

“Ending Thailand’s political turbulence requires addressing the economic – and social – sources of those pathologies.”

    “phrai versus smart discourse”

Gosh, and simple folks (me included) thought it was all about elitist interests screwing over working-class Thais.

Kalo sy ttp percaya dg KPU sj. Gak percaya quick qount yg bikin resah masy saja. Nah model media2 yg kyk gini bikin resah. Gak dr pihak jokowi gak dr pihak prabowo. Sama sj nrt sy buktinya blm ada pengumuman resmi pemerintah udah berani klaim menang. Gak dewasa sama sekali dan keliatan bgt sama2 haus kekuasaan semua.knp tdk sabar?? Ya itulah politikus nrt sy. Semua sama2 ambisius

  17. ahmad says:

logikanya kalo memang rakyat banyak mendukung dan rela berkorban kok malah bilang “lemahnya monitoring saksi PDIP” harusnya banyak dong saksinya disetiap TPS. terkait manipulasi yang dia bilang, apa ini buktinya http://chirpstory.com/li/199648

  18. Danny Boy says:

Why the hostility, bro? Should all foreigners (especially Aussies) be threatened if Prabowo takes the seat? Is that what you’re trying to say? The “outsiders” in this forum merely trying to predict of what could possibly happen if Prabowo or Jokowi wins the election. The same will apply if you comment the autocities conducted by Israel in Gaza at present. Chill out. Your hostility only reveals your intellectual capability in digesting the opinion of others.

  19. Monique says:

Bagaimana orang bisa membersihkan darah di tangan Prabowo ? Siapa ingin menjawap ?

  20. Danny Boy says:

Prabowo could win without cheating, you say? By judging what the majority thinks about Jokowi on the streets, it seems quite difficult for Prabowo to win the popularity contest.
