Michael is Head Tutor of Asian Studies at the University of Sydney. He is Postgraduate Coordinator of the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre & a postgraduate researcher within the Archaeology Dept.'s Greater Angkor Project.
Michael's research focuses on the emergence of cities across Southeast Asia. His work connects anthropology, social & economic history with archaeology. Michael is also interested in social sciences/political theory & enthusiastic about public outreach, educational theory & practice. He is an editor of the PoP blog on New Mandala.
