Only two days ago, I believed ex-PM Abhisit was formally charged with murder and will too be on trial pertaining to the May2010 Red deaths during the military crackdown.
Wonderful! This is the true path to Thai reconciliation. Bring all the people involved in that March-May2010 tragedy of violence and detahs into an open trial and let them tell their stories.
Somebody should invite Black Shirt Supremo Thaksin Shinawatra, who has a lot of explaining to do . . .
And people around the world like to say they have become advanced and cultured with time! Which way?
All American TV viewers REJOICED when the first cruise missile blast those helpless bunker-ful of Iraqi soldiers into “dust”. Or the “depleted” uranium “smoked” the tanks and continued to make endless generations of locals sick.
Or the cowardly Drones of Obama ( who was so scared to go to Burmese Jungle hide out) evaporate unsuspecting civilians every day and threat them forever continuously.
The brave and dignified Bamar Tatmadaw backed ex-Tatmadaw men in different uniforms burning sleeping monks alive though is sheer mark of gallantry.
Besides, the specific use of White Phosphorus does raise the question how much of this “reform” crap itself is thoroughly, closely and in detail stage-managed by the Americans, as White Phosphorus usage is designated as War Crime even in the hot battlefields except when used by the Americans and Israel, frequent, massive users.
Back to Laiza. Killing does never end, how big the gun is or how many killed in one go or how beautiful is the fireworks in video afterwards or how loud are the cheers.
Killings be-get killings.
(Here one assumes The Valiant Bamar Tatmadaw cannot kill every single Kachin in Burma and around the world in one quick flash like in the latest video games. It may though be possible with both Chinese and American – both would benefit from the Dam and Pipes!-helping as they, old and new best friends of Bamar Sit-tut, are world’s leading experts in all forms of killings.)
See how calm and peaceful is the land of the most prolific, indiscriminate and spectacular killers- the Yanks. All rushing to buy Doomsday Preps killing other people in the queue and retreating into self-prisons called “gated communities” and hoarding Dum-dum bullets.
Laiza is well within the range of Burmese army’s 105mm Howitzers already positioned on the nearby hills since last year and the army is patiently waiting for the order from the President to smash the hell out of KIA/KIO.
Fortunately for KIA, the President Burma army is waiting to issue the firing order is not Thein Sein but Hu Jintao.
If there’s a classic example of a poacher turned game keeper, youhave none better than South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa. Another one is Tokyo Sexwale. Mandela with his fancy shirts is not alone.
And guess who got shot? Chris Hani. Surprise, surprise.
The Thai Gov’ts War on Drugs: Dead Wrong. Stop the Murder of Thai Drug Users.” During Thaksin Shinwatra’s 2003 “War on Drugs” it wasn’t only drug users who were brutally, extra-judicially murdered in the streets, but over 50% of the 2,800 killed during the course of 3 months, were completely innocent, involved in no way with either drug use or trade. This atrocity has been overlooked as he and now his sister, Yingluck Shinawatra have proven their utility to advancing the interests of Wall Street and London.

I think there is something wrong about this. I mean the four boys were not taken back to Thailand back then by the Crown Prince, yet he took the Princess back with him. There must be some reason as to why the princess was taken back and not the four boys.
And then I guess there is also something weird in what these four boys said. These four boys said that every year they wrote letters to their grandparents the King and Queen and their father the Crown Prince, but, there is no mention at all that they wrote letters to their sister. This means that they are trying to restore their royal titles and everything else that comes with it and they see that the only one who has the power to restore them were their grandparents and their father.
And come back to the fact that they were not taken back by the Crown Prince back to Thai with him when he took their sister and his refusal to have any contacts with them led to further suspicions. Could it be that these four boys are not royal princes at all??
Jan Ovesen’s book will ultimately go down as an example of how not to conduct a study of potential hydropower impacts. He was so wrong about so many important things. Unfortunately, this sort of study does nothing but give foreign anthropologists a bad name.
I see there is a bit of a ruckus going on because Chanel 11 had the audacity to air a clip of Taksin showing respect to HM. Is Taksin’s love less worthy than other people’s? Are only people approved by the ammart allowed to love HM?
“..freedom from the military yoke for all the peoples of Burma ..”
“..progress and prosperity…”
Phrases written in the same paragraph along with the names of two people unworthy of being anywhere near those phrases.
Aung San Suu Kyi is simply a well crafted “key” for efficient and effective use of the international business corporations to open Burma at the expense of well being, peaceful lives and, as it now appears, health of the majority public of Burma.
Just as much like that 94 year old currently sick Mandela who “revolutionised” the social system of South Africa to the non-stop acclaim of his inventors and international handlers achieving absolutely nothing for the Blacks who simply ended up losing their professionals currently serving the people of Australia, UK and New Zealand on top of every thing else. Before Mandela’s rock star status, De Beers of Rothschild owned South Africa, now after 19 years of “End of Apartheid” hoola-baloo, De Beers of Rothschild own South Africa with some crumbs falling towards Ramaphosa.
Burma under the thumb of Aung San Suu Kyi would ends up the same except that the grass-root public’s faith in her is wearing thin rapidly and the “west” is not yet really in a position to take control the populace which are as yet not CORRUPTED enough even with non-stop help from the “west” funded “exile” media crowing how wonderful Burma will be in a short time so long as we go along with eviction and enslaving of the whole country and let the money changers ran wild across the land.
Guess what, even the thus-far-proved-to-be-outsmarting-everyone military in sheep “gaung-paungs” might double cross the money changers as it is no secret that all the -at -the-end- killed- or- exiled dictators started out like Thein Sein is now – pampered beyond belief- before the “military” take-overs in the old days or “Public Uprisings” in new age of “Smart Power” of Suzanne Nossel.
But once the power of money is re-established after hither-to disconnected monetary system of Burma is repaired, it would be simply a case of a few key strokes to manipulate the essential commodity prices and impossibly huge loan repayment incurred for those lovely big wide thoroughfares, high rise buildings, ports, rails, sub-subsistence wage factory yards, etc. and of course the conservation of nostalgic Colonial Building on top of the already billion dollar “Instant City in the Jungle” tunnelled hide out on every world traveller’s itinerary except for the ones with morbid fear of the North Koreans.
Shocking and breaking news – the man who organised the cover-up of the murder of Altantuya has come clean provinding the clearest ever links between the Prime Minister and the cover-up.
The bastion of good governance, the Wall Street Journal, on corruption in Malaysia:
Despite Malaysia’s high-profile anticorruption crusade, half of the corporate executives surveyed by a global corruption watchdog believe that competitors have obtained business through bribery, underscoring the hard task ahead for Prime Minister Najib Razak‘s government in weeding out graft.
Aside from any fanciful or wishful thinking, why would he bother when he’s becoming the golden boy with everything going his way?
While ASSK gets buoyed by the endless international accolades but somehow never manages to win the real prize- freedom from the military yoke for all the peoples of Burma – as she goes about pursuing elitist collaboration so she can be the joint initiator of progress and prosperity however skewed, her govt counterpart and ally in the venture(and joint top global thinker)is looking for a bigger prize than mere plaudits, another three decades perhaps if not more of military domination of the economic as well as the political life of the nation ├а la Suharto’s New Order which lasted 32 years. Even after he was long gone Indonesia remains under a former general, and according to a report by Human Rights Watch, plus ├зa change.
I think Ralph Kramden that if you are not just being plain silly, you are sufferring from some idiotic paranoia. And sorry man . . . you can’t be helped. You might as well stick your head in a gutter or a septic tank.
Personally the only thing I truly follow is any royal news about the condition of HMK Bhumibhol. Any telecast of the royals on TV (these royal telecasts are scheduled by the way Ralph K, so you could stick out your head from that septic tank and conveniently turn on that remote) are quickly avoided (save about the King of course). In short – my every daily life moves on without any unwanted ‘royal distractions’; save one that leaves me infuriated every time: the royal car caravans that causes horrendous traffic gridlock and raised my blood pressure without fail each time!
What ‘deceit’ PeteS. You think that if somehow you get yourself invited to be in the presence of Queen Elizabeth for instance, you could just sit cross-legged in your chair while all the others stand to show respect?
There’s such thing as proper behavior in public places you know … like ‘not smoking’ or ‘not spitting on the streets’. Why much ado about ‘standing up to the royal anthem’ which is not much different to say ‘pausing and standing in attention when a country’s flag is raised or their anthem played’?
Me thinks PeteS has been attending too many Red village education camps . . .
Let’s say you do want to avoid royal personality cults, as well as working out some scheme for the cinema, you’d have to be home schooled, walk the streets blindfolded, stay off the BTS, not listen to news on the radio, never watch free-to-air television, not read newspapers, try to avoid parts of bookshops, and so on….

Despite EVERYTHING said here – the FACT is the Pattani insurgents are inflicting the greatest defeat against the Thai military, by anyone, ever.
