Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has made it clear that the government will not allow attempts to usurp his power in Malaysia modeled on what happened in Egypt. According to The Star, the Prime Minister recently reflected that:

Currently, there are demonstrations and activities to bring down the government by force in certain countries…Don’t think that what is happening in these countries must also happen in Malaysia or Sarawak…These things need not happen here. We (the Government) will not allow them to happen here…From very early on, the Govern┬нment has always adhered to the belief that the rakyat (citizenry) is supreme…The rakyat has been given the freedom to choose the government of its choice. There is no need to usurp power…We will stop any attempt to bring such trouble into Malaysia or Sarawak…
