A coup, however, would need the tacit approval of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, but he is said to be ailing, with many decisions being made by Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. The prince is a good mate of Thaksin, so it is unlikely he will want to get rid of the Government that is seen as Thaksin’s puppet.
